A re-imagining of my piece Miner’s Nign. I wanted to pay tribute to the csárdás rhythm particular to a village called Sic (Szék), located about 25 miles northeast of Cluj. In Szék, as well as many other villages in the surrounding region, it’s common practice to only use major chords, even when accompanying melodies that imply minor tonality.
